About ItalFrame

Italframe was formed and incorporated in Tanzania in 1963.
We are registered Class One (Foreign) Building contractors in the country.

Italframe Ltd is a Tanzanian Registered Company Incorporated in The United Republic of Tanzania under Certificate of Incorporation No 3210 dated the 13th of August, 1963 and duly Registered as Class One Building Contractors with The Contractors Registration Board of Tanzania.

Incorporated in 1963, it initially specialized in the manufacture and erection of Free Span Precast Concrete Portal Frames of Clear Span 8 m to 36.6 m mostly used for Industrial sheds, warehouses, airplane hangars and other structures that require large clear spans. This method was designed to serve the same purpose of Fabricated Steel Structures, but has many economic & other advantages to steel. They can be adapted to almost any type of construction, from residential houses, schools, churches, warehouses and factories. All items can be cast in-situ in the most remote areas of the country.

Over the years the company has roofed more than 500,000 Sqm with its portal framed structures. This technology was exported to Kenya, Zambia and Nigeria. During the 70’s and 80’s, a number of projects were successfully carried out in Kenya by our sister company including a major project for a steel rolling mill in Nigeria. Over the last 20 years, Italframe has mostly dealt with Building projects in the Commercial, Residential, Education and hospitality segments.

In addition to the industrial sector, the company as General Building Contractors also undertakes Residential, Commercial and Education projects.

Most of the companies clients are from the private sector, both local and international. Recent projects that stand out must be the New French School in Dar es Salaam, New Eye and Orthopedic Clinic for CCBRT and the New Mandela Industrial Park in Tabata, Dar es Salaam.

Across the borders of Tanzania the company carried out various projects in Kenya, Nigeria and also played a major role in the Construction of the Tanzania Pavilion at the Expo 70 held in Japan. This consisted of Four Traditional Style Circular Houses, one lower than the others to give an impression of movement with a central piazza surrounded by 10 meter high umbrella like structure symbolizing a palm tree. The pavilion had an overall silhouette of a Tanzanian Village. The pavilion was built by using the finest of Tanzanian Hardwood timbers; over 160 Tons were completely prefabricated in Dar es Salaam and shipped to Japan for erection. The pavilion was perhaps Africa’s best and was arguably not second to many European pavilions.
